Verse of the Day: Luke 2:4-6
Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.
Fruit of the Spirit: Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem as part of a prophecy about where the Messiah would be born. Even the name of the city, Bethlehem is important and special because it means “The House of Bread” and Jesus is known as the “Bread of Life”. Every detail about Jesus’ birth, including Bethlehem and His family lineage, was part of God’s plan to save us. The Christmas carol “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” beautifully captures the humble setting where Jesus was born. This Christmas, let’s reflect on the divine purpose behind the birth of Jesus, and share the spirit of Love, Joy, and Peace.
