Bible Verse: Ruth 4:13

So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. When he made love to her, the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.

Even though Ruth’s husband had died and she was facing an uncertain future, Ruth chooses to remain with Naomi, demonstrating her commitment to family. After arriving in Naomi’s homeland, Boaz, a relative of Naomi, demonstrates kindness and generosity towards Ruth and Naomi. He provides them with protection and assistance, ensuring their well-being as members of his extended family. Boaz acts as the kinsman-redeemer by marrying Ruth, fulfilling his duty to preserve the family lineage and to provide for Naomi and Ruth. The birth of Boaz and Ruth’s son, Obed, brings joy and hope for the future of Naomi’s family. Obed, the son of Ruth and Boaz, becomes an important link in the lineage leading to King David and ultimately to Jesus Christ. Throughout the Book of Ruth, family serves as a source of support, protection, and hope and the importance of family bonds.
