Verse of the Day: Matthew 9:36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Jesus cared deeply not only for the souls of the multitudes who followed Him but also for their physical needs. We are called to be Christlike—gentle, caring, and compassionate. There is a homeless epidemic in our country, with many living in poverty and going hungry every day. The pandemic and inflation have exacerbated this complex problem, causing many to lose their jobs, homes, and even their lives. Everywhere you look, people desperately need help and they need Jesus.
People are hurting, and it is up to us as Christians to find ways to meet their physical needs and share the love and compassion of God. By doing so, we can bring souls to the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. If not us, then who?
