Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 2:23
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
When someone goes against us, attacks, or offends us, our instinct is to shield ourselves when faced with hurtful words, criticism, or falsehoods. We might want to fight back and defend ourselves by saying similar things. But Jesus showed us something special. Even when people insulted Him and He was suffering, He didn’t insult them back. Instead, He entrusted Himself to God, who judges justly. We can learn from this example and trust in God to fight our battles. Let’s lift up our praise, knowing that God is faithful. Let Him be the one who defends us. He will fight for us and make all things right in His perfect time.
“Battle Belongs” by Phil Wickham focuses on trusting God to fight for us when we’re under attack.
