Verse of the Day: Mark 10:45
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to walk in His footsteps and live by the example He gave us. Though He is the beloved Son of God, the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings, and the promised Messiah, Jesus chose a life of humble service. He didn’t come to be served, but to serve and He did so with love, compassion, and grace.
If Jesus, in all His glory, humbled Himself to care for the hurting, heal the sick, and reach out to the poor and broken, how can we ever think we are above serving others?
We are called to serve with the same spirit of humility and love. Each act of kindness, each moment spent helping someone in need, is an opportunity to serve not just people, but God Himself. When we extend compassion to others, we are living out the heart of Jesus.
So let us follow His lead, laying aside pride, and choosing to love through action. Serving others is a powerful form of worship, and through it, we reflect the character of Christ to the world around us.
Do Something by Matthew West challenges believers to take action in the face of need, reminding us that we are God’s instruments to serve and make a difference.
