Read During Prayer

Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

Reading the Bible as part of your prayer time can bring insight and encouragement. A great place to start is the Book of Psalms, it’s full of verses that naturally turn into prayers of praise and thanksgiving.

No matter where you begin, ask God to open your eyes and help you understand what He wants to show you. If you’re praying about a specific topic, you can use a Bible concordance or search for verses online to guide you.

Once you find a verse, take time to read it slowly, think about what it means personally for you, and then pray it back to God. His Word is alive, and sometimes even familiar verses will suddenly speak to your heart in a brand-new way.

Remember, when we pray, we are talking to God, and when we read the Bible, God is speaking to us. Praise Him for giving us His Word to guide, comfort, and transform us!

“Speak, O Lord” by Keith & Kristyn Getty is a prayer asking God to use His Word to shape our hearts, minds, and lives.
