Verse of the Day: Matthew 6:19-21
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
It’s okay to enjoy the blessings God gives us, but we have to be careful not to let our hearts get too attached to them. When we care more about what we own than the One we serve, we miss the point of what really matters. Everything we have here is temporary, but the treasures we build in heaven through a life that honors Jesus will last forever.
As a new year approaches, it’s a good time to reflect. Where is your heart? Are you focused on things that make a difference for eternity? Ask God to show you how to use your time, talents, and resources to bless others and grow His kingdom.
When we keep our eyes on heaven, it changes everything. We find joy in giving, peace in letting go, and purpose in everyday moments. Let your life be rooted in worship, not in wealth. There is no greater treasure than knowing Jesus and living to serve Him. Praise God for the gift of true, lasting riches found only in Christ
‘Nothing Else” by Cody Carnes expresses a deep desire for Jesus above all else, forsaking worldly treasures for intimate worship.
