Words Matter

Verse of the Day: Matthew 12:36

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.

Reflection

My words carry more power than I often realize. They can heal or hurt, encourage or discourage, bless or wound. I’ve learned that once words are spoken, they can’t be taken back and that makes me want to be more mindful of what I say. It’s easy to speak out of frustration or emotion but God calls me to use my words with purpose, to speak life and not destruction.

I want my words to reflect God’s love, to build others up, to encourage, and to bring peace. When I speak with grace and kindness I’m not just blessing others, I’m honoring the Lord. Every word is an opportunity to shine His light and remind people of His goodness. May my mouth be filled with truth, compassion, and hope.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of speech. Help me to be mindful of the words I speak and to use them to uplift and encourage others. When I’m tempted to speak harshly, remind me to pause and choose grace instead. Let my words bring life, reflect Your love, and glorify Your name in every conversation. Amen.

Life Reminder

Before you speak, pause and choose words that bring life, reflect God’s grace, and build others up rather than tear them down.
