Verse of the Day: Galatians 1:10
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
We all fall into the trap of trying to please others, especially those we love. While having a caring heart and wanting to make others happy is a reflection of compassion, it becomes a problem when we begin seeking the approval of people over the approval of God. Too often, this leads us to compromise our well-being, or worse, our relationship with the Lord. But praise God, His love is constant, and His truth is unchanging. He calls us to live for Him, not for the applause of the world.
Don’t allow yourself to be influenced by those who don’t walk with God. Instead, stand strong in your faith and hold firmly to your convictions. Let your worship be shown in the way you live and honor God above all else.
When your heart is set on pleasing the Lord, His light will shine through you. As you walk in His truth, you’ll find that the right people. Those who strengthen your faith will naturally be drawn to you. Seek to please God first and everything else will fall into place.
“Only Jesus” by Casting Crowns is a song about living so that only Jesus is glorified, not seeking the world’s approval.
