Verse of the Day: Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth
Reflection
I used to think meek meant quiet, timid, shy, even a pushover. That’s how the world makes it sound. But the more I grown in my faith, the more I see that biblical meekness is nothing like that. Meekness is strength under control.
There have been times when I had every right to react, to argue to prove a point, or to defend myself. Sometimes I did, but I’ve also had moments where I chose not to instead. I chose to respond calmly and to trust God instead of forcing my way. And honestly, that took more strength.
Jesus had all authority, yet He chose humility. That kind of power under control is what meekness really is. It’s not about shrinking back. It’s about trusting God enough that I don’t have to fight every battle myself.
For me, meekness looks like being teachable. Admitting when I’m wrong. Choosing peace instead of drama. It’s having the ability to speak, but knowing when silence is wiser. It’s letting God handle what I could try to control. I’ve seen the blessing in doing that. When I let go of pride and choose humility, there’s peace and less stress. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone.
Prayer
Father God, thank You for showing me what true strength looks like. Thank You for the example of humility and trust. Help me to walk in meekness, choosing peace over pride. Teach me to trust You enough to respond with wisdom instead of reacting out of emotion. Amen
Life Reminder
Meekness isn’t weakness. It’s strength under control, rooted in trusting God.
