Reflection

I used to think I had to “feel” spiritual before coming to God. Like I needed the right mood, the right words, or a perfectly focused mind. But it’s much simpler than that. If I take one small step toward Him, He responds. He’s not playing hide-and-seek with me. He’s not distant or hard to reach. He’s always there.

There have been seasons when I drifted away a little. I got busy, distracted, caught up in life. But every time I made the decision to turn back, even in a simple prayer like, “God, I need You,” I felt that closeness again. Not because I earned it, but because He’s faithful.

Drawing near doesn’t have to be complicated. For me, it looks like opening my Bible before I check my phone. It looks like talking to Him while I’m driving. It looks like letting go of habits or attitudes that pull me away from Him. It’s choosing connection on purpose. The more I seek Him, the more I notice His peace in my day. His guidance in my decisions. His strength in my weak spots. I don’t have to chase Him down. I just have to turn toward Him and when I do, He meets where I am every single time.

Prayer

Father God, thank You for always being ready to meet me when I turn toward You. Thank You for never leaving me. Help me to draw near You with a sincere heart. Give me the discipline to seek You daily and the courage to let go of anything that creates distance between us. Keep me close to you where ever I am. Amen.
