Verse of the Day: Psalm 34:8
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Reflection
Growing up in the church I had heard other people’s stories about God. I listened to sermons. I read devotionals. I heard testimonies. But if I’m being honest, I didn’t have my own real experience with God. It wasn’t until I went down the wrong path, made choices that led me far from where I should have been, and finally turned back to Him that everything changed. That’s when I truly encountered Him for myself.
There came a season when I had to really leaned in. Not because everything was perfect, far from it, but because I needed Him to be real to me. I started talking to Him honestly. I started reading His again. I truly started trusting Him to help me and little by little, I began to see His goodness for myself.
Not just in big miracles, but in peace during stressful moments. In comfort when I felt overwhelmed. In doors opening at the right time. In strength showing up when I didn’t think I had any left.
God isn’t distantand He’s not hiding. I don’t have to have all the answers. I don’t have to clean myself up first. I just have to come with an open heart. And the more I trust Him personally, the more I see how good He really is. Not just because someone told me, but because I’ve experienced it myself.
Prayer
Father God, thank You for being near and for inviting me to know You personally. Thank You for showing Your goodness in my life in ways both big and small. Help me to trust You more deeply and seek You with a sincere heart. Open my eyes to see Your goodness at work all around me, and grow my faith as I draw closer to You. Amen.
Life Reminder
Don’t live off someone else’s story, draw close to God yourself and discover His goodness in your own life.
