How Great Is Our God!

Verse of the Day: Psalm 145:8

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in mercy.

Reflection

Sometimes I just stop and think about where I would be without God’s grace. I know myself. I know my mistakes. I know the times I’ve fallen short. And yet, He’s still patient with me. Still compassionate. Still rich in mercy and that amazes me.

God could be distant. He could be harsh. But He’s not. He’s slow to anger. He doesn’t give up on me when I mess up. He corrects me, but with love, with care and with the kind of mercy I don’t deserve but am so thankful for.

When I think about Jesus going to the cross for me specifically, it makes it personal. That wasn’t just a story. That was love in action. Because of Him, I’m forgiven. I’m not stuck in my past and I’m not defined by my worst moments. I get to live covered in mercy.

God is powerful enough to do the impossible, yet gentle enough to care about my everyday struggles. He’s strong and compassionate at the same time. When I really think about this truth, praise just comes naturally. I don’t have to force it. I just think about who He is. He is gracious, patient, and merciful. He truly is great. Not just in power, but in love.

Prayer

Father God, thank You for being so gracious and compassionate with me. Thank You for Your patience and the mercy You pour over my life every day. Help me to never take Your grace for granted. Fill my heart with gratitude and let my life reflect the mercy You’ve shown me. Amen

Life Reminder

Never forget how gracious and merciful God has been to you and let gratitude shape how you live every day.
