What Does the Lord Require?

Verse of the Day: Micah 6:8

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Reflection

When I really think about what the Lord requires, it’s actually pretty simple. He’s not asking me to be perfect or impressive. He’s asking me to live right, treat people fairly, show mercy, and stay humble with Him.

I don’t always get it right. Sometimes my pride tries to sneak in. Sometimes I want to hold on to being “right” instead of being kind. But I know I’m called to do better than that. I’m called to treat people with the same mercy I’ve been given. That means being patient when it’s hard. Forgiving when I’d rather not. Choosing compassion even when someone doesn’t “deserve” it.

Walking humbly keeps me grounded. It reminds me I’m not better than anyone else. I need grace just as much as the next person. So instead of trying to look spiritual or put together, I focus on living honestly, loving people well, and staying close to God in my everyday life.

At the end of the day, it’s not about performance, it’s about living right, loving mercy, and staying humble with Him.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for showing me what really matters. Help me live with fairness, kindness, and humility today. Keep my heart soft and remind me to walk closely with You in everything I do. Amen

Life Reminder

When you choose justice, mercy, and humility, you’re living the kind of life God asks of you.
