Choosing to Serve

Verse of the Day: Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Reflection

We live in a world where people often want recognition, attention, or credit for what they do. It’s easy for me to fall into that mindset too. Sometimes I catch myself wanting appreciation or hoping someone notices my effort.

But when I look at the example Jesus set, I see something very different. Even though He had every reason to expect people to serve Him, He chose to serve others instead. That kind of humility reminds me that my faith isn’t just about what I say, it’s also about how I treat people and how willing I am to help.

Serving others doesn’t always mean doing something big or impressive. Many times it’s simple things like being generous, helping someone who needs support, or giving my time. Those small acts matter more than I realize.

When I choose to live with that kind of generosity and willingness to help, serving others becomes a natural way for me to live out my faith every day.

Prayer

Thank You, God, for the example Jesus gave of serving others with humility. Help me to have a willing heart that looks for ways to help and care for people. Teach me to live generously and serve others with kindness. Amen.

Life Reminder

When you choose to serve others with humility, you reflect the heart of Jesus and the love of God.
