Verse of the Day: 1 John 5:20
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
Reflection
The term #Relationship Goals gets used for cute couples and picture-perfect moments, but when I read this verse, it reminded me of the kind of relationship goal I want to have with Jesus. I don’t just want to know about Him, I want understanding that leads to knowing Him personally. I don’t want a relationship that stays surface-level. I had to ask myself: do I truly know Him, or do I just know about Him?
Jesus didn’t just come to improve my life, He came to save me and He came so I could know the truth. In a world where everything shifts and opinions constantly change, that matters. I don’t have to build my identity on unstable ground. Through Him, I’m anchored in what is real and lasting. That changes how I see myself and how I move through life.
Being “in Him” is about connection. It’s about living aware that I belong to what is true and eternal, not what is temporary. The more I lean into that relationship, the clearer my direction becomes. My foundation feels solid, and that’s the kind of relationship I want to keep building, one rooted in truth and real connection.
Prayer
Jesus, Thank You for giving me understanding so I can truly know You. Thank You that my life can be rooted in what is true and lasting. Help me stay connected, grounded, and confident in who I am in You. Amen
Life Reminder
When you build your life on Jesus, you are anchored in what is true and you have a foundation that doesn’t shift.
