Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 1:6
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Reflection
A soul on fire for Jesus doesn’t stay lit on accident. If I don’t tend to what God has placed inside of me, it slowly cools. I can’t depend on a past moment, an old breakthrough, or yesterday’s motivation.I have to actively nurture what He’s already put inside of me.
There are times when it’s easy to drift into routine, to show up but not fully engage. But this verse challenges me and it reminds me that something valuable is already in me. I’m not waiting for purpose to arrive; I’m responsible for developing what I’ve been given. When I lean into prayer, time in the Word, and obedience, that spark grows stronger. And when I get distracted or lose focus, the fire starts to dim.
I don’t want a quiet, unused faith sitting on a shelf. I want my life to reflect courage, love, and action. I want to use my voice, my experiences, and my gifts. The more intentional I am, the more alive my faith feels and when I choose to fan that flame, it burns steady and strong.
Prayer
Thank You, God, for placing gifts and purpose inside of me. Thank You that I don’t have to search for meaning because You have already entrusted me with it. Help me be intentional about developing what You’ve given me and give me courage to use it fully. Amen
Life Reminder
God has already placed something meaningful inside of you, don’t let it fade when He’s calling you to fan it into flame.
