You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Reflection

There was a time when I honestly wondered if I was just useless. Like maybe I found God, but He didn’t really “pick” me for anything meaningful. But the more I’ve grown in my faith, the more I’ve understood something powerful. I didn’t choose Him first. He chose me and He has a purpose for me.

I’m not an accident. I’m not an afterthought. Before I ever got my life together (or even tried to), He already had purpose attached to my name. And that purpose isn’t just about going to church or saying the right things. It’s about living in a way that produces something that lasts.

For me, bearing fruit looks like loving people when it’s inconvenient. It looks like showing up consistently. It looks like encouraging someone when I’m tired. It’s writing this blog even if only one person gets something out of it. It’s the small daily choices that reflect who I belong to. Not perfect. Just faithful.

When I step out and do what He’s called me to do, He provides what I need. The words. The strength. The opportunities. I don’t have to force it. I just have to stay connected and keep going.

So I keep serving, keep loving, keep planting seeds. The results aren’t my responsibility, that’s up to God, I just have to do my part. I’ve been chosen and so have you. Our lives are meant to bear fruit that lasts beyond this life.

Prayer

Father God, thank You for choosing me and giving my life purpose. Thank You for trusting me to be part of what You’re doing. Help me to stay connected to You so my life produces fruit that lasts. Give me the strength to love well, serve faithfully, and walk in obedience even when it feels small. Provide what I need as I step forward in faith. Amen.
