Happy Labor Day!

Verse of the Day: Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Reflection

I know what it feels like to be tired. Not just physically tired, but that deep kind of tired that sits in your mind and your heart. The kind that doesn’t go away with just a nap. But Jesus invites me to come to Him when I’m weary. Not after I’ve fixed everything. Not after I’ve caught up with things, but right in the middle of it.

Labor Day reminds me that work matters. Being faithful, showing up, and doing my best is all important. But so is rest. God designed both. Even in Scripture, there’s a rhythm of working and resting. We weren’t created to run nonstop.

When I actually pause and bring my stress to Him, something changes. My body may still be tired, but my heart feels lighter. My thoughts calm down. I remember I don’t carry everything alone. He gives a kind of rest that goes deeper than just taking the day off.

So today, I’m choosing to slow down a little. To breathe and hand over what’s been weighing on me to God. Work is part of life, but so is rest, and they are both gifts. Wishing you a restful and peaceful Labor Day.

Prayer

Father God, thank You for giving me the ability to work and the blessing of rest. Thank You for being my strength when I feel worn out. Help me to come to You when I’m weary instead of trying to handle everything on my own. Teach me to trust You with what’s heavy and to receive the rest You freely give. Restore me from the inside out. Amen.

Life Reminder

You don’t have to carry everything alone, bring your weariness to God and let Him give you the deep rest your heart truly needs.
