Verse of the Day: Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Reflection
I guess I could say there might have been a time when I read the Bible just to check a box. Even when I didn’t fully understand everything, I knew it was sacred. But the more I lean in with an open heart, the more I realize this Book is not ordinary, it speaks to me.There have been mornings when a verse hit me right where I needed it. It’s not random, it’s specific to what I need that day. It exposed an attitude I needed to change, it corrected my thinking, or it was encouraging when I felt discouraged. Sometimes it was comforting and sometimes it was convicting, but it was always exactly what I needed.
God’s Word has a way of reaching deeper than the surface. It shows me where I’m off track and helps me get realigned. Sometimes that can be uncomfortable, but it’s also freeing.
I’ve also found answers there when I didn’t know what to do. Guidance for relationships, wisdom for decisions, or strength for hard days. One thing I can tell is for sure, the Bible isn’t outdated. It’s active, it helps me in real time, and when I read it expecting God to speak, He does.
Prayer
Father God, thank You for the gift of Your Word that speaks into my life. Thank You for the way it comforts, corrects, and strengthens me. Help me to read it with an open heart. Use it to shape my thoughts, my attitude, and my decisions so I can grow closer to You each day. Amen.
Life Reminder
Open your Bible expecting God to speak because His Word is alive and it will meet you right where you are.
