Verse of the Day: John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Reflection
There are times when I start to worry. I let fear creep in about things I can’t control. And in those moments, I have to remind myself that the kind of peace Jesus offers isn’t like the world’s version of peace. The world’s peace depends on circumstances. If everything is going well, I feel calm. If things fall apart, so does my peace. But the peace Jesus gives goes deeper than that. It isn’t tied to what’s happening around me. True peace comes from inside my spirit.
When I turn to Jesus instead of spiraling in my thoughts, things change. I may still be in the middle of a hard situation, but I’m not drowning in it. His peace steadies my breathing. It quiets my racing mind and it reminds me I’m not alone.
I don’t have to let my heart stay troubled. I don’t have to live in fear. I can receive the peace He already offers, and that peace carries me through what I can’t control.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the peace You freely give. When my heart feels anxious or afraid, help me turn to You instead of my worries. Fill me with Your steady, calming peace today. Amen
Life Reminder
When you receive the peace Jesus offers, you can stay steady even when life feels overwhelming.
