Verse of the Day: Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
Reflection
Loving people who love me back, that’s easy. Loving people who hurt me, misunderstand me, or treat me unfairly? That’s where it gets real.
Love isn’t always my first reaction. My instinct is often to defend myself and keep my distance. Sometimes it’s wanting them to feel what I felt. But this verse challenges me to rise above that. It reminds me that I’ve been shown mercy I didn’t earn. Grace I didn’t deserve.
When I stay rooted in God’s love, I don’t have to react out of hurt. I can respond from strength instead. Loving an enemy doesn’t mean I approve of what they did. It means I refuse to let bitterness control me. It means I trust God enough to handle justice while I choose kindness.
Every time I choose mercy over payback, my heart feels a little softer and my peace stays intact. Love isn’t weakness. It’s obedience. And choosing it, especially when it’s hard, changes me little by little into the person God wants me to be.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for loving me even when I didn’t deserve it. Help me choose kindness when I feel hurt and mercy when I feel offended. Teach me to love in a way that reflects Your heart. Amen
Life Reminder
When you choose love over bitterness, you reflect the mercy God has already shown you.
